Gujarat: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has started a new solar power project of 187.5 megawatts (MW) at Khavda in Gujarat. The project was launched by Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited, a company fully owned by AGEL.
The company said in an official note that it received all the required approvals and decided to begin operations on May 21, 2025, with the project going live the next day.
With this new addition, Adani Green’s total renewable energy capacity has now reached 14,528.4 MW. This makes the company one of the largest producers of clean energy in India.
Khavda, located in the Kutch region of Gujarat, is ideal for solar energy because it gets a lot of sunlight and has plenty of open land. The new solar plant is part of Adani’s bigger plan to help India switch to green energy and reduce pollution caused by fossil fuels.
This move also supports India’s long-term target of getting 500 GW of power from clean sources by the year 2030.
